This CO2 laser can cut plate up to
1” thick x 13' wide and
50' long. The burning bed is
185-feet long which allows continuous cutting without
lost time during loading and unloading. This machine has
a cutting tolerance of .006”
per meter. Closer fits mean less weld distortion
and, therefore, a fairer hull with less radiated noise
(end result is less cost on product). With a burn kerf
of only
.030”, there is very little extraneous heat put
into the cut part, minimizing distortion and the heat
affect zone. Many parts that had to be punched or
drilled using other cutting processes can now be laser
cut. We can successfully cut aluminum (to .38") and
Stainless (to .63").
Accuracy must begin at the piece/part level if you are
expecting a precise final product.
